ROAD TRIP - DAY TWO

We're up this morning and getting ready to head out. We'll go grab some of the Thrifty Inn's yummy continental breakfast then pack up the van and head toward Kansas City!

----------

Wow! What a fun day! After we left the Thrifty Inn we were on our way to Kansas City. We made our way through Illinois and into Missouri right around lunch time. We decided to stop at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. It wa really neat to see the museum under the arch about the United States' westward expansion. We then paid $10 to get in a tiny white pod (that looked like a gas chamber/space ship escape pod) and rode to the top. Once there we were able to see the Mississippi River and St. Louis from 630 feet in the air! It was so amazing. After we were done there we went back to the van and ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chips and candy before we got back in the van and went on our way. As we drove across Missouri we began to see snow on the ground which was really cool and the temperature kept dropping.

We made it into Kansas City around six o'clock and made our way to our host home where we are now. We drove about 30 minutes north of the city to a town called Smithville, Missouri. Once we got here we had to turn around a few times as we looked for the house we would be staying at and we finally found it!

The family we're staying with is soooo amazingly nice. They are so caring and giving and are really hospitable. We have the upstairs of the house to ourselves and now we're just hanging out, playing UNO, the Ben's are using the metal tin from UNO to make tile shapes in the carpet and we're talking about our day!

Some quotes from day two of our adventure:

1. Ben Perdue - "Adult bookstore? What's the deal? There must be a lot of grown-ups here."

2. Tyler - "The elders of the Baptist church are dying out...well the elders of every church are dying out."

3. Ben Perdue - "That toilet sounded like a really wet fart."
Sarajane - "Are you sure you didn't just wet fart?"
Ben Perdue - "No, but I did fart. Did you hear it?"

4. Ben Humphrey - "It's like someone shook a bag of powder sugar all over Missouri."
Ben Perdue - "Powder sugar and porn!"

5. Ben Perdue - "Accidentagious!"

6. Ben Humphrey - "What's that on the woof?"

7. Sarajane - "I have a strong feeling she's infertile."

8. Sarajane & Tyler - "I'm at a slant! I can't think straight! Write that down..."

9. Ben Perdue - "Larry Flintz Hustler Club!!!"

10. Tyler - "I hope they have a porn table..."

Tomorrow we will get up and be on our into the city, about a 30 minutes drive, as we travel to Bartle Hall to check in for onething and start the conference!

Oh, and the BEST quote from the whole day from Ben Perdue:

~if one suffers we all suffer, it's community man~
